This was a video we did a little while back but is very relevant with our new community. It’s about getting your free Google Places listing. If you’re in business, this is all good and does no harm. The best case scenario is you get a lot of free leads – the worse case scenario is you spend a few minutes setting up the account and don’t get much traffic.
One important note that I didn’t cover in the video is you cannot “keyword stuff.” What’s that mean? There’s a place to put in keywords that are relevant to what you do. However, some agents who are multi-line make the mistake of putting:
“Life insurance, disability, long term care and property and casualty.” Google is likely not going to index you along all of those terms. My advice is to pick your major line of insurance and concentrate on that term.
